GR7 titanium alloy (corresponding to China grade TA9, UNS R52400) is an α-type titanium alloy containing 0.12%–0.25% palladium (Pd). The addition of palladium significantly enhances its corrosion resistance in reducing acidic and high-temperature chloride environments while maintaining mechanical and processability properties comparable to those of GR2. GR7 is acclaimed as the most corrosion-resistant titanium alloy, demonstrating excellent resistance to general corrosion and localized crevice corrosion in a wide range of oxidative and reducing acidic environments (including chloride-containing conditions).
Outstanding corrosion resistance: performs exceptionally well in reducing acids such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid, as well as in high-temperature chloride environments, with particular effectiveness against crevice corrosion and pitting corrosion.
Excellent weldability: Can be welded using TIG welding, plasma welding, or other methods; TIG welding wire of the same material is recommended.
Excellent workability: Good cold workability; the recommended hot working temperature ranges from 700 to 900 °C.
